Pricing · USD
Priced per image, in dollars, before you run it.
A plan buys storage, retention and support; every op is on every plan. AI ops are paid per image from a credit balance, and deterministic ops are free on paid plans.
- Priced in dollars
- Every AI op has a USD price per image. The API counts in credits at a fixed 10,000 to the dollar.
- A capped markup
- We never charge more than 1.5× the provider’s list price for the work we quote. Analyze is quoted at the most a request can use, so a typical one costs us less. The price behind each model is in the catalogue API.
- A quote before you spend
- Send any job with
?dryRun=trueand get its exact cost back. Nothing is created. How the dry run works - What expires, what doesn’t
- Monthly credit is for that month and does not roll over. Credit you buy — and the one-time welcome credit — never expires.

Per-op prices
USD per image, from the live model catalogue. A range moves with size, quality or upscale factor; a dry run prices the parameters you actually send.

Questions
- What happens when my AI credit runs out?
- A job that needs more credit than you have is refused when you submit it, before anything runs: 402 insufficient_credit (retryable: false). Credit your running jobs already hold counts as spent until they finish, so a burst of jobs cannot all start against the same balance. Top up, then submit it again. A dry run (?dryRun=true) says in advance whether you have enough. The monthly credit is spent before credit you bought, and work that has already finished is always charged. With auto top-up on, a charge may take the balance below zero by up to one top-up while that top-up is on its way.
- Does the monthly credit roll over?
- No. Monthly credit is for that month and does not roll over. Credit you buy — and the one-time welcome credit — never expires.
- What happens when the Free plan's deterministic ops run out?
- Nothing stops. Past the Free plan's monthly allowance of 200 deterministic ops, each one is paid from your balance at $0.002 — the balance AI ops are paid from, welcome credit included. Only a call the balance cannot cover is refused: 402 insufficient_credit (retryable: false). A dry run (?dryRun=true) says how many of a job's runs fall past the allowance and what they cost. Pro and Max have no such limit. AI ops are paid from credit and do not count against it.
- If I downgrade or cancel, what happens to the assets I already stored?
- They keep the retention they were created with. Each asset's retention is stamped when it is created, from the plan you are on at that moment, and never recomputed — so a downgrade or a cancellation does not shorten what you already paid to store. Assets created after the change get the new plan's retention. Retention today: 30 days on Free, 180 days on Pro and 1 year on Max.
- Can I cancel any time?
- Yes, on Usage & billing, without writing to anyone. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for: until then the plan and its limits stay as they are, and you can resume it. After that the account is on Free.
- Can I get a refund?
- Unused credit you bought is refundable within 14 days of purchase; credit already spent is not. Write to support@imagestep.dev. Your rights under consumer law are not affected.
- Do you charge per image or per call?
- Per image. An AI op is charged for each image it returns, at the model's listed price. Deterministic ops are not charged per image: Pro and Max run them without limit, and Free counts them against a monthly allowance and pays only for the runs past it. A dry run (?dryRun=true) returns a job's exact cost before anything is spent.
- Is there a yearly price?
- Yes: Pro is $200 a year and Max is $1,000 a year — switch the plan table to Yearly. The year is paid up front, and the monthly credit still arrives month by month.
Cancel, resume and top up on Usage & billing. The full rules are in the terms; anything else, write to support@imagestep.dev or see support.
